Itinerary
Day 1: Upon arrival at our basecamp in the morning, you will be warmly greeted by our expedition team. We will then take half of the day to familiarise yourself with our equipment provided and go through comprehensive safety protocols, check that you have all of your gear and run through the updated logistics with weather in mind to ensure a smooth and secure journey.
In the early afternoon we will move out. Driving to the start of the ice cap can be tricky and take some time depending on the weather and conditions. Once there, we will travel for a few hours then strike camp

Day 2 : Prepare for long days pulling sleds on skis of up to 8 hours each day, immersing yourself in the incredible beauty of the icy landscape.
As we conclude our daily skiing, we will allocate 1 to 3 hours to construct a sturdy and comfortable campsite, taking into account the prevailing weather conditions. Once settled, we will melt snow to prepare dinner and to provide drinking water, this also takes some time. Once all the chores are done we can finally go to sleep.

Day 3-6: Continuation of the crossing, skiing for up to 8 hours each day, depending on weather conditions. The itinerary may be adjusted to accommodate for challenging weather. Each evening, dedicate 1 to 3 hours to setting up camp, then of course the inevitable melting snow for drinking water, and finally enjoying a well-deserved rest.

This will be our rhythm for most of the days on the Icecap with one exception. A sauna in the middle of the trip! As unbelievable as it sounds, it is true and a fantastic treat right when you need it most.

Day 7 (or 8): Complete the crossing of Vatnajökull and reach the end point. Celebrate the accomplishment back at the base
