Terms and Conditions

The terms "Participant, participants, guest, guests, client, clients, you, your" refer to those who have made and paid for a reservation with Pict Expeditions and partners and have therefore read, understood, and agreed to all of the below terms, conditions, and policies.

By purchasing a ticket to participate in a group or private tour with Pict Expeditions and partners, you hereby accept the following terms, conditions, and policies.

Unforeseen Events and Liability Policy

The Icelandic wilderness and Vatnajökull National Park are extremely dynamic environments, which means that the natural conditions are constantly changing. Challenges and hazards include, but are not limited to, weather, structure of the glaciers, integrity of the mountains, snow conditions, river flows, glacier lagoon ice conditions, iceberg rollover, iceberg collapse, glacier calving, erosion, volcanic eruption, glacial outburst flood, strong winds, avalanche, rockfall, ice fall, heavy rain, snowfall, whiteout, cold exposure, heights, flooding, water ice, uneven terrain, tripping, and sun exposure. The risk of equipment failure and guide judgement error also does exist. Please be aware that there are hazards that exist whilst participating in any outdoor activity and unforeseen events can and sometimes do occur. Pict Expeditions and partners are not responsible for any loss, injury, or death as a result of any such occurrence.

Severe Weather Policy

Icelandic weather and conditions can be extreme. Occasionally, the weather or conditions are too severe to venture outside, forcing us to cancel tours. If Pict Expeditions and partners cancel your tour, we will try our best to change your booking to a more suitable time. However, if this is not possible, we will issue a full refund. Please see our Cancellation Policy below for full details. The only reason for Pict Expeditions and partners to cancel tours is due to safety.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be in writing, via email to: feimnarjupan@gmail.com

For tours purchased through another vendor, please contact the vendor directly with your refund and/or cancellation request.

Group Tour Cancellations

:
- More than 7 days (168 hours) prior to the tour departure time: Partially refunded at 90% of the total tour price.
- Less than 7 days (168 hours) prior to the tour departure time: No refund.

Private/Custom Tour Cancellations

:
- More than 7 days (168 hours) prior to the tour departure time: Partially refunded at 80% of the total tour price.
- Less than 7 days (168 hours) prior to the tour departure time: No refund.

Cancellations must be made and delivered to Pict Expeditions via our email: feimnarjupan@gmail.com

The reason Pict Expeditions offer partial refunds is to cover the associated fees and commissions that have already been paid towards our booking system, payment provider, and administration.

Governing Law Policy

Pict Expeditions is an Icelandic company that also operates under the Icelandic name Feimna rjúpan ehf.

By booking with Pict expeditions, this agreement shall be exclusively governed by and construed in accordance with Icelandic law. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with this agreement shall exclusively be submitted to and dealt with by the district court of Reykjavík.

Information Privacy Policy

Pict Expeditions shall only store and use the information you supply to us, or which is supplied to us, for the purposes of carrying out our contract with you and to inform you of other services and offers. If you do not wish to receive such information, please let us know by emailing feimnarjupan@gmail.com.

Travel Insurance

As with any and all world travel, Pict Expeditions strongly recommends that you purchase a comprehensive travel insurance policy to cover any unexpected incidents or changes to your travel plans.
